WoW Forever engineering guide: 1-300

Engineering builds gadgets, explosives, scopes and goggles from metal bars, stone and cloth. Pair it with Mining for the bars. Kerry's Forever beta engineer checked steps up to 100; the rest comes from Forever's game data.
What Forever changed
Forever lists 246 Engineering recipes, and 77 of them are new to Forever. New in Forever: SAF-T and EZ-Thro versions of the classic explosives, satchels of bombs, the Reagent Bot camp item, and gadgets like the Harvester Override Signalcaster. Gnomish and Goblin specialties are left out of this route because you can only learn one.
How to read the route
Each step is the cheapest recipe that still gives skill-ups at that range. Orange always gives a point, yellow usually does, green rarely does, gray never does. When your recipe turns green before the end of its step, move to the next one. The Colors column shows where each recipe changes.

Engineering camp items
Engineering makes three camp items for Forever's campfires: the Reagent Bot at 20, the Repair Bot at 140 and the Workbench at 300. See the professions guide for how Camping works.
Let the addon count it

Questions
What's the fastest way to level Engineering in WoW Forever?
Make the cheapest recipe that's still orange or yellow. Blasting powders and dynamite carry the early levels on stone you'd mine anyway.
Do I need Mining?
It helps a lot. Almost every step uses bars or stone.
Gnomish or Goblin?
Neither is needed to reach 300, so this route skips both. Pick the one whose gadgets you want.
