WoW Forever tailoring guide: 1-300
Checked on the Forever beta, October 10, 2026.
Tailoring turns cloth from humanoid mobs into armor, shirts and bags. It needs no gathering profession, so it pairs well with Enchanting. Skill 1-150 of this route was checked on Kerry's Forever beta tailor; the rest comes from Forever's game data and gets checked as he levels.
What Forever changed
Forever lists 413 Tailoring recipes, and 179 of them are new to Forever. Most trainer recipes now stay useful about 60 points after you learn them (Linen Belt is learned at 15 and gives skill-ups until 85), so you switch recipes less often. Some Classic trainer recipes moved to vendors: the Runecloth Robe and Cloak patterns are sold in Moonglade, and Runecloth Cuffs in Mount Hyjal. New sets like Stormsewn, Filigreed and Earthenweave come from patterns outside the trainer, many bought with Merchant's Favor, and two new dyes (Magenta and Cerulean) show up in the higher recipes.
How to read the route
Each step is the cheapest recipe that still gives skill-ups at that range. Orange always gives a point, yellow usually does, green rarely does, gray never does. When your recipe turns green before the end of its step, move to the next one. The Colors column shows where each recipe changes.

Tailoring camp items
Tailoring makes three camp items for Forever's campfires: the Faction Banner at 20, the Spinning Wheel at 140 and the Loom at 300. See the professions guide for how Camping works.
Let the addon count it
This route tells you what to make. ForeverArtisan tells you how many. Type a target skill in the Tailoring window and it plans the crafts, counts the in-between materials it will make for you, and builds a shopping list with Auction House prices. It also shows when a trainer you've met has the next recipe.
Questions
What's the fastest way to level Tailoring in WoW Forever?
Make the cheapest recipe that's still orange or yellow, and switch when it turns green. Forever's recipes stay useful longer than Classic's, so the route has fewer steps.
Where do I get cloth?
Humanoid mobs drop it: Linen, then Wool, Silk, Mageweave and Runecloth as you level. Tailoring needs no gathering profession.
What's hard about the last stretch?
Past about 290, every recipe that still gives skill-ups comes from a reputation vendor or a drop. Runecloth Cuffs keep giving the odd point in green if you'd rather not.
Enjoy the journey!
